Celtic Diva, this is what stalkers do. They find people.
Please look at the clips of their ambush on Amanda Terkel. She's a bright, well-informed woman. They pounced on her... not a good position to be in and have your thoughts collected. Even flat-out wanted her to admit she was a villain.

Have all the information stored in your head.  In fact, if I were you, I'd carry a transcript of this latest ethics complaint against Queen Sarah, as well as others for reference.

If you're ambushed, ask THEM questions. Recite facts and ignore their questions. Faux's M.O. is to talk loudly, and give little time for answers. As far as their questions go, they're just going to try to sideswipe you, sidestep the issues, and ask inflammatory questions. Just start reading the transcripts word-for-word at them and ignore their questions. That will give them nothing to chop up for TV. They don't want the facts to get out there, they just want to make you look bad. If they try to grab your transcripts, that's an attack. That's assault. You'd be within your rights to defend yourself.

Also, keep friends nearby for support. These people like to stalk in groups to intimidate their victims. Watch how they surrounded Amanda Terkel. Even better, make sure to tell your friends to record it on their iPhones (if they have them) or something like that.
You have early warning. Not many stalkers give this sort of advance warning.

If you can, find a homeless veteran. Bill O. has said repeatedly there are no homeless vets. Show him one. OK, I'm joking on this. Not about the part where Bill O. says they don't exist. That part is true. He says they don't.

Also, keep in mind your property is YOUR property. If they trespass, make them leave. They've made it clear they're going to turn you into a stalking victim. Keep 911 handy.

Here's the thing: whatever you say, however you appear, will be dissected so the worst of it will be shown on Faux News. So everything you say should be pointed and articulate. For a good guideline, look up Faux clips of the wonderful, talented, intelligent Janeane Garofalo's interview with Faux. I think it was on Bill O.'s show. My memory is hazy because it was a few years back. I recall he tried to put her on the spot, but she was so intelligent and well-informed her interview was cut halfway through (in mid-conversation) to commercial, and never resumed. Faux was schooled...

Here's a great idea: be pre-emptive! Try to contact Keith Olbermann's show or Amanda Terkel's office at Think Progress. Ask them if they have any helpful hints for being stalked by Faux! It can be a sort of Faux News Stalking Victims Awareness Program. That would be great... In fact, I think K.O.s show would go for creating a segment for it!!!

And, the more private citizens who get together who were stalked by Faux, the easier it may be to bring the station up on criminal charges.

Wow, who would have thought that in this day and age, you'd be harassed for doing what's basically a civic duty.  If GINO were a Democrat, or even a progressive republican, you'd be left alone completely.

Gawker.com recently had a post on what to do during an O'Reily ambush, and it basically says to make sure that they have no usable footage what so ever by quoting directly from his harassment lawsuit.  Funny, mean spirited, but it would keep you off the air.  Or, to quote the delicate Parnee you could just say, "Fuck it, we'll do this shit live."  I'll post the link below.

As someone who lived for six weeks with camera crews trying to get a glimpse of the dishelveled (SIC) upper middle class white man post Katrina while I was stuck in New Orleans post hurricane, I can tell you there is nothing like being surprised by a camera crew when all you want is to get on with your life.

Constant vigilance, and a good support system, and you shall get through this.

Since they are not going after the substance of your ethics complaint, you know you are right.
These emails are revolting and the anger and rage are frightening. I feel sorry for them, that they are so blind in their ignorance and rage. It must be horrible to be trapped with thoughts and feelings like that.
It takes courage to do the right thing. And you have it in abundance.

If you are stalked and pushed into the limelight, refuse to answer the question, give them that great Irish Smile and call the police! You are under no obligation to put up with the harassment.

Really, I am serious. People need to see this. If you get it out, where a huge amount of people start seeing this, knowing it is coming from her, her supporters and she is doing NOTHING to stop the threats of violence, and that you have a minor child, that is really saying a lot about her.

Linda, I know you are strong and are able to take care of yourself.. you are a beautiful person and can handle it. But these people have NO morals, NO respect, so watch out very closely for your daughter.. I know you are..already, I am sure.. and I don't even want to say her name... but just keep an extra close watch.. they will stoop at NOTHING to hurt you... if it means going through her to do it... just remember that.
That's why I am suggesting you publish these emails and her presser and everything at one of the larger venues where more people will see it... That way BillO and Greta will get the message they aren't just messing with Alaska.. they are messing with the entire country.

What the Right Reverend said.  Look straight at the camera and calmly keep repeating a short, to the point statement that you have memorized beforehand. The shorter, the better, because they will have a harder time carving it up in the editing room.  They will do their best to "rattle" you, but don't give them that power.

You might review the clips from the Keith Olberman show (a very attractive man IMHO) where two of BillO's minions tower over Amanda Terkel in an aggressive and accusatory way, trying to shame her for a piece she wrote three weeks before.  When aired, even the edited clip exposed them for jerks and bullies they were.  You might email Amanda at ThinkProgress.org for advice.

I am so sorry you had to look at those nasty comments from nasty people.  Maybe you could have a friend handle the comment section for a while.  I have a strong feeling most of these people live in the lower 48, and do not realize that GINO's support in AK is evaporating as her incompetent management and dismissive attitude towards her own people comes under a spotlight.

Show them the steel in your backbone Diva!  When you are an old lady, these times will be remembered and recalled with pride.

You are a hero. Truly. Rednecks like Sarah talk about "protecting our freedoms," but the only "freedoms" they are interested in are the right to own guns, and the right to burn heretics who don't believe in their version of god. It is a sad comment on our "liberty" when citizens need to fear ugly verbal attacks by politicians, stalking by propaganda machines posing as "news" networks, and even worse by the crazy politician's rabid fan club. No citizen should need to fear the consequences of exercising their civil rights, but that is the low point to which Sarah and company have sunk us. She gets away with the %$@# she does because people are afraid of her. I agree with those suggesting you send the hate emails to the FBI. Of course, you need to find a non-rightwing nutcase FBI agent, not an easy thing to do.

Linda I just want to reiterate what many have said before me, that you are the embodiment of courage and beauty.  I hope that you have a large network locally who can provide you with real-time support through this harrassment.

If there are any emails that you have received which specifically threaten you or your family - that is a federal crime which the FBI handles.  Their local # in Anchorage is (907) 276-4441.  They are in the phone book but this is easier :).  I would put that number,  911 and the non-emergency # for APD in your cell phone.  Hopefully you never need them, but if you do, you've got em.

Gosh it's times like these when I still wish I lived there, but I think my head would explode from the insanity that is Alaskan politics these days.  I'd make copies of the threatening mean spirited emails and send them to a safe place.

For the danger of sounding repetitious: Make sure you keep those nasty emails and fw them to the FBI.
First, though, make sure you can show them the whole background (where the email came from and the routing, etc - I am not very computer savvy, so I don't know the exact terms for this) I know you can do that by expanding the details of the sender...
Besides the FBI, I also would supply some or all of these emails to Keith O., and to Rachel Maddow, Ron Reagan, even to Michael Moore, and maybe someone on CNN and MSNBC. Also forward some of them to GINO and demand that she put an end to this - IN A PUBLIC AND FORCEFUL WAY. This kind of intimidation has to stop, and it has to stop now. Otherwise, we all can say goodbye to all of our liberties and re-read the nazi history, for that is where we are headed if these lunatics are not stopped. This type of behavior was the beginning of the end in Nazi Germany.

On the other hand: Make sure that you ALWAYS have someone with you, and also always carry a cellphone with you, and a camera...

Her financial disclosure forms are out there, and people have found quite a few 'omissions' in them...

I have plans to help you swat them down.  Hey, guess what?  Now they are buzzing around Alaska State Senate Gary Stevens because he called Palin a liar. They are lost, pathetic and oh so predictable. Celtic Diva----Please, please don't read all the slimy, evil comments.  Please find someone who will go through them for you until this subsides.  We want you to keep your mind clean and not be impacted by such trash (more than you have been so far).

I'm sure Gryphen or someone else will "throw out the garbage" for you.  We are supporting you and send our best to you.  

Alaska's political scene is falling apart now, but will be rebuilt with integrity and justice.  First the old guard, the failed policies and corrupt politicians must be cleared, thus making room for the tender shoots of integrity to sprout and grow.  I think that's what's happening now.  After this bleak "winter" is over, the spring will come around, bringing the new growth of accountability and justice.  Just think, you are playing an integral role in bringing about a better world in Alaska.  

Although it  must be difficult for you, I hope that you can take some solice in knowing that you're building a better Alaska.

But maybe you should think about getting a restraining order against Fox News.  You can also file a complaint with the State Troopers if you believe there is a tangible, physical threat.

As for the rude comments, you know to ignore them, don't you?  As a person with an above-average IQ, I actually recommend you show them some pity.  I remember when I was in high school, there was a girl in my junior and senior year who was way behind the rest of the class.  They said she had a mental age of 6.  She was simple, but sweet.  In those days, they didn't offer much in the way of remedial education; they just threw those poor kids who were intellectually 5 or 6 years behind the norm into the mix.   And kids can be so cruel; she was the subject of endless taunts and bullying, and not many rallied to her defence.  I can see how, as adults, these people might feel bitter and want to lash out at their intellectual superiors.

Life is tough by most any measure, but I think it's toughest when you have a very low IQ.  Imagine not being able to express a coherent thought, to fill out a simple form, to silently count the change from a dollar or to read a bedtime story to a child.

Continue to maintain the high ground.

Oh, yeah - your complaint is valid as SP's immediate family member received in-kind benefits in excess of $5,000 from Arctic Cat.  I've read the State Employees Ethics Handbook.  Because I care.  And because I can.

Diva   My first post on your site and all I can say is you go girl.When you get someone  like faux noise after you and the Nasty poster a few post back you know you are doing something.I belong to a blog ,non political,that is and was being harassed the same way. Names and addresses and phone numbers put online on other sites and threats of burning down homes shooting people..I never knew until I started reading blogs a few years ago ho awful people are to each other and we all wonder why the world is always at war. I agree with all other posters turn those posts and I hope you did a screen shot and turn them over to the FBI.They will investigate and find out who these people are,The thing is these type of people  down in Texas were not only trying to shut down this couples blog but out the posters in any way they could and they managed to hack into the sites server and get a few real names and called employers ect .So you really really take care,I have said the same to AKM those type of people are scary. Keep up the good work.
